Youth Enterprise Programme
Four Enterprise workshops which can be delivered in 90 minute sessions or expanded to half days. Personal development tools and techniques are incorporated into the workshops including having the right attitude and mindset for success. The knowledge can be applied to other areas of life with transferrable skills into employment.
Students come up with a business idea in the first session which is developed throughout the other three workshops so that they can start making money straight away if they choose to do so.
Think Big!
Today’s celebrity entrepreneurs seem to be creating new businesses every day of the week; what’s their secret? This workshop will offer participants the opportunity to learn how anyone can generate new business ideas that are both profitable and enjoyable.
Based on a person’s own skills and experiences, Think Big presents approaches, tools and techniques that are easy to use and fun to empower individuals to realise their true potential in the world of business.
Designed as an introduction to the Youth Enterprise Programme, this workshop will challenge students to examine their skills and experiences to see what a wealth of opportunity they have within themselves right now, and to plan their future development. It also acts to engage the learners to give them an appetite to further explore creating their own new enterprises using the resources they already have and to take action right away.
Each student will take one business idea and develop it in future workshops.
Sell Yourself
For every business that succeeds, there are 2 that fail. The secret to your business staying ‘alive’ and generating the profits you’ve always dreamt of, is finding and keeping customers that are prepared to pay.
Sell Yourself will show students how marketing and selling tools and techniques can enable them to not only find customers who are willing to pay for what their business has to offer, but also how to then profitably sell their business products to them. People buy people and the principles in this workshop will also give participants transferable skills in the job market and other situations.
It may sound like common sense, but all too often, entrepreneurs spend too much time focusing their energy on designing their product or website and not enough on getting customers to pay for what they offer – this workshop is a critical part of the Youth Enterprise Programme in ensuring that participants don’t lose sight of the most important aspect of their new enterprises … customers.
Making Money and Keeping It
Designed as the third in the series of Youth Enterprise Programme, this workshop takes students through some of the detail and planning required to sustain a profitable business. The principles can also be applied to earning a wage in the job market.
Recognising that the most common reason that businesses fail is due to cash running out before customers pay, Making Money and Keeping It will equip students to understand the importance of good financial planning and introduce the basic concepts and tools that are used to ensure businesses stay profitable.
The workshop also challenges students to consider what financial success is to them and how they can best use the profits from their businesses to enrich their lives.
Just Do It!
TV shows like ‘The Apprentice’, ‘Dragon’s Den’, and celebrity entrepreneurs including Jamie Oliver and Stelios (founder of EasyJet), seem to show how easy is was for those people to be successful. What they don’t show are the countless and costly mistakes these successful entrepreneurs have made along the way.
For every successful entrepreneur there are dozens who fail – Just Do It! will show participants the ‘secret formula’ to creating a successful enterprise: things which the celebrities of today’s business world were never taught and had to learn the hard way.
Uniquely for an enterprise training programme, it also looks at how to ensure that you stay in control of your business, get out of it the things you want, and avoid it taking over your life.
