Personal Development Programme
Six personal development workshops which can be delivered to complement curriculum subjects. Each workshop can be delivered in a 90 minute session and expanded to half or full day workshops. Examples used in the workshops can be tailored to meet specific issues, such as bullying, anger management etc.
Ideal for young people referred to as 'gifted and talented', 'disaffected youth', and those with no labels.
These workshops are great for adults working with young people, such as Connexions Advisers, Youth Workers, Support Workers, Classroom Asssitants, Learning Mentors etc.
Debra is available for inspirational and motivational talks at school assemblies, graduation dinners etc.
Managing Your Emotions
Without realising it, we are often led by our emotions and immediate responses to situations. This can mean that we react inappropriately, cause offence and miss key opportunities by not considering our alternatives or giving ourselves space and time to think and respond.
This first workshop is designed to create a safe environment in which students feel able to objectively understand and identify ways in which their behaviours are affected by their emotions, and how they can take a more balanced approach in harnessing the power of those emotions for not only their benefit, but also for those around them. Students will learn how to control anger and other negative emotions.
Effective Communication
Very often we can feel frustrated when people don’t understand what we are trying to communicate or when they misinterpret something we’ve said. Such frustrations can often lead to anger, and anger leads to hate, and hate leads to the dark side …
It’s vital for all us, whatever we do in life, to make sure that people we communicate with understand us and respond accordingly. This second workshop in the Personal Development Programme encourages us to consider the ways we currently communicate and shows us how to communicate in an effective way to instantly build rapport.
Fulfilling Relationships
We all have needs that need to be met – 4 needs of the personality and 2 needs of the spirit. We need to understand what vehicles we use to meet our own needs and be able to recognise how others meet their needs, whether these are in positive or negative ways. We must learn to communicate our needs to others in order to have fulfilling relationships.
Inappropriate or unruly behaviour is often deemed to be the result of troublesome individuals who act that way simply because ‘they feel like it’. We rarely consider that these people are simply meeting their needs in unresourceful ways.
Fulfilling Relationships is the third workshop in the Personal Development Programme, and introduces the concept that we can support each other in a variety of different ways to achieve fulfilment and reduce anxieties and tensions that can lead to conflict.
Your Driving Force
Your Driving Force workshop offers space and security to consider what our values are, what’s important to us in life and how this impacts on behaviour and expectations.
This Personal Development Programme workshop encourages us to explore our own sense of identity – how our values and beliefs shape our identity, and how to begin to develop new empowering beliefs to support that identity.
In understanding our identity, and how our values and beliefs impact upon it, we will gain a greater sense of security, self-belief and self-confidence from which we can better approach and engage with the world around us.
Goal Setting and Keeping Your Life in Balance
People can drift aimlessly through life not knowing where they are going. They can lack aspiration and don’t achieve what they are capable of doing so never reach their potential or expand their comfort zone.
This Personal Development Programme workshop will help us to understand where we are now, look at where we want to be in the future, and show us how to create a plan to get there whilst keeping our lives in balance. We will learn about the power of visualisation and how to make our dreams a reality.
An Abundance Mindset
There are more than enough resources in the world for everyone. People don’t want the same things. 1% of the population own 96% of the wealth. If you were to share it out equally, it would end up back with the same people. Why? Because of the Universal Law of Attraction. We create our own reality by our thoughts and our feelings. Negative thinking, behaviours and patterns result in negative results.
In this Personal Development workshop, Abundance Mindset challenges us to consider the effect we have on people around us: people with whom we have relationships, and those in the wider community. In doing so, we will come to understand the power of the ripple effect and the impact that can have on ourselves.
